Furniture and Self Assembly Orders*
All of our furniture including garden structures come flat packed unless otherwise stated, although we take every effort to ensure the furniture arrives safely as they are wooden items parts can occassionaly be damaged during transport. Therefore please ensure that items are checked and any defects notified to us within 48 hours from receipt. We would also ask that all panels are inspected prior to assembly as we cannot be held responsible for the time and effort in dismantling items should a defect be identified after assembly. You cannot return items that have been assembled as the damage may have been caused during assembly. Should you employ someone to assemble the item we cannot be held responsible for their time and effort. We would never recommend asking someone to attend to assemble the items until they have all been received and checked over. Delays and/or damage can occur for any number of reasons.
As we have many years experience of supplying wooden furniture our advice and policy is If any parts are identified as being damaged we would replace the defective parts asap, we would not normally replace the whole unit unless there are numerous parts damaged.
Please note that we are not responsible for the disposal of the packing materials and that if replacement parts are required we are not responsible for the disposal of the damaged parts nor any extra packaging. We hope that our customers understand these terms in relation to furniture as we do try and keep prices down to the lowest possible and if we were able to offer the services above we would have to pass this on in the form of increased prices.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
If you take advantage of one of our money off your next order offers, there is no minimum spend in relation to your next order. However if you use the money off code on your next order and then cancel your original qualifying purchase we will refund your money for your original purchase minus the offer amount you received in your subsequent order.
If you take advantage of a money off discount code, this is only applicable at time of purchase and only one discount code can be used for each purchase.
If you wish to use an offer provided as part of a Product Enquiry only one of the offers sent can be claimed.
Acceptance of order by Baby and Child Ltd
The contract in respect of the products supplied by us to you comes into existence when your order has been accepted by us. For the avoidance of doubt, receipt of an order via our site does not constitute acceptance of an order.
Acceptance of order by the Customer
Once you take delivery of your order you have 30 days to let us know whether or not the item is as it should be and everything is present. After this time it will be accepted that you agree that all of the items/parts of the item are present. In the case of courier damage we would ask you to contact us within 7 days of receipt of the item.
Your right To Cancel
If you place an order on our interent site it can be cancelled or altered within 30 minutes of the order being placed. After such time orders may incurr a return charge as the item may have been shipped and will have to be recalled back to our warehouse. This would then constitute a change of mind return.
You have the right to cancel your order with us at any time before the expiry of 14 days from the day after the date of delivery. If your order has been dispatched from either our warehouse or from the manufacturers we are unable to cancel it here, you may still cancel the order however the cost of returning the items are at your expense. If you receive a FREE gift with your item, this must also be returned, unused in its original condition. The cost of returning the FREE gift would be at your expense. We recommend that customers check items on arrival as even if unopened we cannot refund unwanted items after the 14 from receipt or 30 days if damaged. Certain items especially those that are heavy may have a re-stocking fee applied, please contact us for further details.
Anti Fraud Measures - Protecting our customers
To ensure that your credit, debit or charge card is not being used without your consent, we will validate name, address and other personal information supplied by you during the order process against appropriate third party databases. By accepting these terms and conditions you consent to such checks being made. In performing these checks personal information provided by you may be disclosed to a registered Credit Reference Agency which may keep a record of that information. You can rest assured that this is done only to confirm your identity, that a credit check is not performed and that your credit rating will be unaffected. All information provided by you will be treated securely and strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
Furniture Damaged items on receipt
Please note that all furniture items should be checked on receipt of the items and any courier damage notified to us within 48 hours of receipt
This guarantee is in addition to and does not affect your statutory rights and is free of charge. In return, please note the following terms and conditions.
The guarantee is available for all products purchased from BabyandChildStore.com
The guarantee is available to the original purchaser only when accompanied with the original receipt
This guarantee is non transferable
The guarantee applies to the product only and does not cover any consequential losses i.e. time or other products
The guarantee applies to material and manufacturing defects only under normal domestic use in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.
The guarantee does not cover faults caused by factors outside the manufacturers control, including failure to follow the user guide and maintenance instructions, normal wear and tear, inappropriate use such as a single buggy being used for two children or the use of any make of toddler board, accidental wilful and or misuse of the product, inappropriate storage methods and or inappropriate cleaning, modification, alteration, transformation of the product.
The guarantee does not cover parts subject to normal wear and tear, foam handles, rubber elements of wheels, pneumatic tyres, signs of fabric wear.
The guarantee does not cover pushchair accessories including bottle bags, cosy toes, foot muffs, pushchair liners, changing bags, rain covers, canopies, mosquito nets, parasols, head huggers, and neck supports.
Moving parts should be maintained on a regular basis and a lubricant such as silicone spray should be applied to keep necessary parts running smoothly.
Fabric accessories may fade at different rates especially when not being used together
If the product is found to be defective within the definition detailed above, Babyandchildstore.com shall, at its discretion, repair the product, or at our discretion, provide new goods to repair the fault or replace the product with the same or similar model to the same specification, this shall be the sole obligation of BabyandChildstore.com.
Any repair work undertaken will be approved by BabyandChildstore.com
If a claim is made under this guarantee and the defect is not due to faulty materials or manufacture, BabyandChildstore.com reserves the right to charge the customer a £29.25 fee to cover the engineers time and couriers costs or replacement parts supplied.
MANUFACTURERS GUARANTEES WILL VARY
For items sent to non UK mainland addresses, if there is a requirement to return items for repair or send out replacement parts under the manufacturers warranty, any shipping costs for sending items, collection and return of the product will be met by the customer.
Please note some manufacturers will only collect from us the retailer for repairs to be completed. In these circumstances it will be up to you the customer to return the product back to us so the repair process can commence.
All our products conform to safety standards as required by the UK and European Safety regulators. Where required products will be marked with the relevant safety standard. Although the UK and European safety standards are considered to be among the highest in the world there may be variations depending on the country that you reside. If you do not live within the European Union please ensure that you check your own country's legal safety requirements before purchasing items from our site. We cannot be held liable for products that do not comply with local safety standards outside of the UK. If we are aware of countries that do not accept the European standards we will advise customers prior to dispatch.
In relation to car seats, we are aware that when in Australia you have to have a car seat that is certified by Australian authorities and we therefore do not ship car seats to Australia.
Descriptions and prices of products
We have taken every care to describe and show products as accurately as possible. Despite this, products may vary from their descriptions. If there is anything that you do not understand, or if you wish to obtain further information, please contact email@example.com. Images and colours can vary from time to time and we try and ensure that the correct images are always shown, however if the manufacturer makes slight changes from time to time and the product is slightly different from that shown we cannot be held responsible.
Manufacturers do from time to time update/upgrade items and their appearance can change slightly. Unless the item is materially different from that pictured or described we are not able to compensate for any changes.
If, by mistake, we have under priced a product, we will not be liable to supply that product to you at the stated price, provided that we notify you before we despatch the product to you. In those circumstances, we reserve the right to cancel your order. In the event we cancel your order, we will give you a full refund on any amount already paid for that product in accordance with our return and refund policy.
All prices are expressed inclusive of any VAT payable unless otherwise stated.

Specifications, Colours, Weights and Sizes
We reserve the right to alter specifications without prior notice. All sizes and weights are given as a guide only and are approximate. Representations of colour are approximate due to the limitations of photographic and calibrations of different output devices.
A name given to a product is not necessarily representative of the colour. If you have a specific requirement or are unsure as to the exact colour please e-mail us for assistance before purchasing.
Wood is a natural product and therefore will carry minor imperfections and characteristics such as grain and colour variation and knots these characteristics are not classed as a manufacturing fault. Manufacturers normally use different grades of wood for items such as cots or cot beds and therefore the finish can appear differently.
Words such as ‘antique pine’ may not mean that the wood is ‘antique’ wood, therefore if you have a specific requirement please e-mail us before purchasing
Accessories supplied to co-ordinate with the main product may differ in shade; this is normally caused by the manufacturing process and is not a fault.
Most car seats fit most cars however some manufacturers also provide suitability checks on their own websites. Where possible, please use the appropriate website to check car seat compatibility with your car as we are unable to guarantee the compatibility of any car seat in any vehicle.
When items are sent overseas, the customer is liable for any local customs duties or charges that may be applicable to the order. Any returns would be at cost to the customer.
