Our preferred couriers for the UK and Ireland are Dpdlocal and UKMail who provide a one hour time slot on the morning of delivery.

Please remember the Golden Rule about ordering from the Internet is that you have someone available to take delivery. All of our items need to be signed for due to security reasons. We try our utmost to make sure deliveries arrive on time and in the majority of cases provide a one hour time slot, however please note that we cannot always guarantee this and sometimes deliveries may come in more than one shipment as different items may come from different warehouses, if you have any concerns about this then please don't hesitate to contact us to discuss.

If you change your mind and don't want the item anymore then please see our returns policy, however please note that we cannot be responsible for customers having to take time off work for collections to be made.

Shipping Zones and Costs

UK Mainland

Free if over £29.99 and £2.99 if your order is under £29.99

Non-Mainland UK including Ireland (Northern and Southern) and Scottish Highlands

£20 per parcel. Our normal delivery times to these areas are 2 days however some items, depending on size and weight may take up to 5 days. Please contact us if you require specific delivery timescales or prices for a particular purchase.

We may also be able to offer cheaper shipping for smaller items to non-mainland UK locations, please contact us to enquire. (These cheaper rates will apply if we are able to use the Royal Mail Small Parcel UK delivery service)

Please note some large items such as some cotbeds or some travel systems may comprise of more than one parcel, or may have large dimensions please contact us prior to placing your order as additional charges may be levied. Most furniture items cannot be delivered to Non-UK Mainland addresses due to their size. (Non UK Mainland addresses include the Highlands, Ireland, Isle Of Wight, Isle of Man, Channel Islands for courier delivery purposes). Please email customerservices@babyandchildstore.com prior to placing your furniture order if delivery is required within 1 of these courier zones.

Occasionally, we offer free or reduced shipping on products under £29.99, this will usually be for standard delivery and will usually take 3-4 working days.

Delivery & Returns

If you have any concerns at all about shipping timescales or rates please contact customerservices who will be able to assist. Please note for us to arrange a return it is normally based on £20 a box which are our couriers standard rates for third party returns, it may be cheaper with smaller items to arrange a return yourself.

Our systems are based on the rates that our couriers charge us, however there are occasions when especially for smaller items to Non-UK Mainland and Scottish Highland addresses these rates may seem excessive. If you contact us we will look at other shipping options for you.

Do we ship to your location

We are able to ship most products to most locations worldwide, however some items are too large or heavy to ship worldwide, please therefore check on the product page under Shipping. If it says UK only, or UK mainland only then we are only able to ship these items to the UK or UK mainland. We can still give you a quote for shipping elsewhere on these items but it is likely to be excessive.

This is because from time to time things can go wrong such as mechanical failure and even human error. Frequently Asked Questions

Why does delivery to Non-UK Mainland and Scottish Highland addresses cost more than delivery to Mainland UK.

This is due to the fact that we use couriers to ship the majority of our items. UK couriers charge more for delivery to Non-UK Mainland and Scottish Highland address.  We do however understand that the cost can be excessive for smaller items. If therefore you are just ordering an item that can be shipped using Royal Mail please contact us for a shipping quote and we will instruct our warehouse to ship via Royal Mail.

Do you deliver overseas?

Yes, we ship worldwide, shipping to Europe will be charged according to the shipping zone above. For shipping to other countries please email customerservices@babyandchildstore.com with your delivery address details and the item that you wish to purchase. Our customer services team will then provide a shipping quote. We aim to minimize your shipping costs and will provide the lowest possible quote from our range of carriers.

If you are using this service and your order consists of more than 1 parcel, please email our customer services team on customerservices@babyandchildstore.com in advance to establish the cost as there may be discounts for multiple parcels. We will do our upmost to ensure that we obtain the best possible price for you from the carrier.

If the country that you require is not listed, please email our customer services team in order that we can obtain a price for you.

*Please note that when sending items overseas the customer is liable for any taxes or charges that may be imposed locally. In addition, overseas customers are responsible for providing the required information to enable their products to be shipped to them, in certain countries, this may include passport identification and residency documentation. We cannot be held responsible for any delays caused by issues regarding documentation.

If items are sent overseas and the product(s) develop faults, the customer is responsible for any shipping costs applicable to and from the UK.


If no one is at home when our couriers attempt delivery they will attempt delivery to a neighbour in the local vicinity and leave your parcel with them. If you do not want your parcel left with a neighbour, please note that at the time of ordering. Alternatively please use the re-arrange service via your e-mail or mobile. If these options are not possible the courier will leave a calling card and usually attempt re-delivery the following working day. After this you will be required to collect the goods from your local depot. Clear details of this will be on the 'sorry we missed you' card that will be left by your driver.

If the delivery address refuse delivery of the goods or if you do not respond to the "sorry we missed you" card left by your driver, your order will be returned to the sender (BabyandChildstore.com) we will then wait for you to contact us before we refund you your money minus the return postage cost.

Please note our courier returns charges are £29.25 up to 10 kilos and 48p per kilo thereafter, Direct delivery charges may vary.

We will always strive to achieve the best delivery rates for our customers and therefore reserve the right to vary our carriers. Some products may attract special offers including free shipping to the UK mainland, unless stated otherwise, this will refer to standard delivery which takes between 3 and 5 days.

Wrong Delivery Address Inputted

If you provide us with a wrong delivery address and your goods are signed for by another party, BabyandChildstore.com cannot be held responsible for any loss you incur as a result.

Hassle-Free Returns

You may of course return any items purchased from BabyandChildstore.com within 14 days to do this you must email our customer services team  to request returns information. Orders returned without returns information will not be refunded. Returns costs are at your expense. We can arrange a return for you but it is at a cost of £20 per box (our couriers standard charges for third part collections). The item must be in its original unused condition. Please enquire re costs to return a particular item.

If you are returning an item because you have changed your mind, there may be a deduction from your refund if the item has been damaged, opened more than necessary as it would be if you were assessing them in a shop or used more than reasonably expected.

Items that are found to be faulty can be returned within 30 days, if you item is faulty please contact us for returns information. we would recommend that customers check items as soon as they are received as even if unopened faulty items can only be returned up to 30 days from receipt.

We offer a returns service through our courier service, prices vary depending on the product, please contact our Customer Services Team for more information.

A non-refundable collection charge of up to £80 will be applied to selected larger items due to surcharges imposed by the courier.  Please contact us for further details on the return charges for specific items.

A non-refundable collection charge of up to £150 will be applied to furniture room sets due to surcharges imposed by the courier.

We strongly recommend original packaging is kept, as any collections for warranty/maintenance work will be required to be packaged in a box.

Damaged Items

If there is any damage to the packaging when your item arrives, please note this when signing for the goods and email customerservices@babyandchildstore.com within 24 hours of receipt for guidance on resolving any issues.

Furniture Damaged items on receipt

Please note that all furniture items should be checked on receipt of the items and any courier damage notified to us within 48 hours of receipt

Can I have my order delivered to a different address?

You are able to have your goods delivered to an alternative delivery address although this does need to be done at the ordering stage online.

Customers paying by Paypal can only have goods delivered to confirmed Paypal addresses.

When ordering, can I specify a safe place to have my parcel left?

It is a requirement that all our parcels are signed for therefore, if you will not be available to receive your order, please consider an alternative address for receiving your parcels such as a neighbour.
